Subject:  IFWLA Vice President R&U Nominations

Nominations are requested for the Vice President (Rules and Umpiring) to take office from summer 2007 as Susie Ganzenmuller completes her second term of office and is ineligible to stand for a further term in this office.

 

The Officers have discussed the impact of the potential unification structure, but given that neither the structure nor the dates are as yet confirmed, we believe we cannot pre-empt decisions, so we have decided that we must continue with our own series of officer elections to ensure continuity of our business, but any person who accepts nomination should be made aware that the unification process may shorten the current officer period or that the post may turn into a different one after unification.

 

However, we believe that it is essential to the women's processes that this postholder should expect to remain in post to be the Chief Technical Delegate at the 2009 World Cup and to at least initiate the process of rules books revisions after the World Cup in 2009, whatever may be agreed under the unification structure.

 

Nominations should be received by me no later than May 1st 2007.

 

Other transition proposals relating to Officers and 2009 World Cup will be brought to Council for discussion in August.
