2005 IFWLA World Cup

2005 World Cup Venue and Dates Announced

9/22/2003

US Lacrosse has announced that it will host the 2005 IFWLA World Cup at the prestigious United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland from Thursday, June 23rd to Sunday, July 3rd, 2005.  Opening matches will commence on Friday, June 24th and the Championships game will be held on Saturday, July 2nd.

The newly remodeled Navy-Marine Corp Memorial Stadium, located just outside of Annapolis and the U.S. Naval Academy grounds, features a recently updated playing surface, VIP suites, and expanded Press box area.  The stadium has a 30,000 seat capacity, abundant parking and ancillary athletic fields.  The primary surface proposed for the 2005 World Cup Championship is grass, with an inclement weather alternate playing surface of artificial sport grass as an option.

The utilization of one of the United States Military Academies as a venue will provide a rare and unique experience to all participants.
