IFWLA Awards
Margaret Turner
IF Recognition Award
Presented by Fiona Clark, IFWLA President
IFWLA Conference - July 2006
Margaret’s nomination is from the IFWLA Officers in
recognition specifically of her role as the inaugural IFWLA Archivist,
until she handed the role over to the VP (Administration) in 2006.
Although
Margaret is a native of England she has been a resident of Wales for many
years, and has served not only Wales, but also the IFWLA, with distinction
during this time.
Throughout
her life Margaret has received various accolades, and has been recognised
for her accomplishments as an Administrator.
Margaret
represented Wales at 13 IFWLA Conferences over a 16-year period from 1986 –
2001. Her travels took her to the USA on 5 occasions, Australia, Japan,
Sweden, Scotland, England (twice), and to Wales. She provided for Wales a
consistency of attendance; The second delegate for Wales varied frequently,
and included Ali Hope, Kath Lewis, Julie Anne Warren, and Mary McKnight,
to name but a few.
Margaret has
attended every IFWLA World Cup as Archivist for the IFWLA alongside her role
as President of Wales. Margaret has been the catalyst in displaying the
history of the IFWLA at the world events, and spreading the word of
International Lacrosse.
Margaret’s
legacy to the IFWLA lies not just in what she did, but also in how she did
it. Take a look at this PowerPoint presentation, and join me on a journey
with Margaret Turner at International Conferences and events…………
I am
delighted to ask Margaret to step forward to receive her IFWLA Recognition
Award.
